Do you give up easily? This message is for you.

Life is brimming with opportunities, presenting us with countless chances and choices. How we perceive those moments shapes the decisions we make, whether we seize the opportunities or let them slip away. If you find yourself ready to give up today, remember that there’s always the possibility of doing the same tomorrow. But here’s the thing: never give up, even in the face of failure. Your failures aren't final; they are simply stepping stones to your next achievement. Entrepreneurs, in particular, are familiar with this concept. They take risks knowing there are two outcomes: success or failure.

Success, however, doesn’t come to those who merely dream about it. It comes from those who are determined and think positively, those who remain steadfast in their belief that hard and smart work pays off. Even failure has its purpose—it exists to refine us and guide us toward success. As Alice Walker wisely said, "The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any." When you give up, you leave the door wide open for someone else to achieve what you were striving for. How terrible would that feel?

So, don't ever give up. If something doesn’t work the first time, shift your strategy and try again. The world is filled with endless, untapped opportunities waiting for you to discover them. Search high and low, leave no stone unturned, and immerse yourself in what fuels your passion. Surround yourself with positive voices, people who uplift and encourage you. Embrace constructive criticism, especially when it comes from those who want to see you succeed.

If I had given up on writing this article, you wouldn’t be reading it now. Remember, your dreams are worth the effort. So go out there and chase them relentlessly—success is waiting for you.

Creating a “Good Day” From a “Bad One”

Personal appearance, self-presentation, and maintaining a positive mindset play a crucial role in driving the success of your startup or advancing your career. Building strong self-esteem and learning how to effectively communicate your achievements, experiences, and skills are powerful tools for personal growth and the development of new innovations.

It’s important to remain vigilant and uplift your spirit through challenges, as failure—whether it’s in a startup or a job interview—can sometimes mess with your psyche, leading you to believe you’re not good enough. However, this is only true if you allow yourself to believe it.

I recently came across an inspiring article on LinkedIn by Jean Fallacara, President and CEO of Z-SC1 Corp, titled “Don’t Let a Giant Spook You! How to Spook Back!” In it, Fallacara makes a powerful point:

"Sometimes in business, people will make you mad, disrespect you, and treat you badly. The way you see people is the way you treat them, and the way you treat them is what they become."

This resonates deeply because having a positive mindset in the face of rejection or failure is one of the most critical keys to success. The way you perceive challenges can either hold you back or propel you forward. If you accept rejection as a lesson rather than a setback, it can open doors you weren’t even looking for.

Turning the negative energy that life throws at you into fuel for growth allows you to embrace all the good that’s yet to come. Remember, you have the power to shape your reality.

THE "ISH" IN STARTING UP YOUR SMALL BUSINESS WITH CAPITAL OR ZERO CAPITAL

This is the third month of the year elapsing. Our comfort zones keep pulling us backwards to ignite a simple start up. We nurture in our mind that “someday I am going to start”. The irony is that the someday keep postponing itself due to our personal budget constrain and commitments in our pay jobs. “Starting small” is an interesting subject that tends to spark a lot of debate with intending small business starters, entrepreneurs and intending to be entrepreneurs.

The truth remains that ideas are conceived and get hooked when the need to set the ball rolling urges.

Most people say there must be capital with every start up, while some will argue that you can actually have a start up with no capital. Whichever way "I agree with both sides", all that matters is the commitment to start even with very little capital or no capital at all. The biggest part in the picture is failing to start at all. This bring us to the most sensitive question have you started at all?

Lets Self-Empowerment Be a Priority...As We Resume Back to Work

See, if you know your social skills and you make use of them, you will reach self-empowerment. Self-empowerment is making a general overhaul in your life and turning yourself into a happier and more successful person. If you can be one of those people-persons, then I can't see any reason why you will not succeed. You just have to know how to start.
Have you come across a person who is so naturally friendly that when you put him inside a room of strangers, he'll be friends with almost everyone in no time? We call such a people-person, someone unbelievably nice and charismatic that he can charm anyone into doing anything.

A socially-empowered person achieves so much greatness, basically because of the people that catapult him to success. He earns the trust and all-out support of the people, whom he had helped before. He never runs out of help. He can do anything with the plethora of people behind him. All because he knows he maximizes his social potential!

Promoting Small Businesses

In small businesses you sometimes don’t need cash as start up. Although many have argued that it’s not true. It’s true for so many lion hearted small business owners. I can tell from the story of how a friend of mine started his general cleaning business. He mobilized two of his peers to start a house cleaning services. They started by borrowing brooms and mop sticks to clean a just completed building without capital. They were able to buy cleaning reagents and disinfectants from the deposited amount they collected before the job to execute their first startup. This was how it all started for the group. Business can many times start from nothing to something. All you need to do is get off your butt and do something except if your pride stops you.

Entrepreneurs don't wait for opportunities they go for it or create it. If you say small businesses, I will say it’s the role of entrepreneurs to set the ball rolling for others to play. When you conceive an idea and it becomes small business startup for many others you have promoted small business. For instance If you set up an amusement park, you will need a lot of hand to run it.

Example: The ice cream joint, the snacks and drinks joint, Suya spot, restaurants, toy store, bookshop, commercial  toilets, video game spots, etc.
We all can promote small businesses by encouraging our youths that nothing is small for a startup. All they need is just the first step which happens when you actually put yourself to it and do something. Make very good use of your time by following opportunities first before your dreams!

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”  ― Eleanor Roosevelt.

SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS ARE TWO KEY ELEMENTS TO SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH

Success and happiness are two things that can never be separated. When you achieve success from the great time and energy you have spent moving around to make things happen it brings you happiness. The happier you are the more successful you become.

Sad people are more attracted towards where they can be happy. The same idea applies when you are running your small business, because your employees and customers prefer an environment where they can get the best satisfaction.

People, who are successful, walked into success because they went searching for it with the spirit of not giving up, while some remain where they are because they only talk about it and never moved from where they are. Go out there today and be successful from doing what makes you happy and what you love most. Stay positive to achieve greatness!

Promoting firsthand working experience for fresh graduate employees in your small business

The most common investment entrepreneurs make is that of time and manpower management and training. This has made most entrepreneur and their investors to prefer employing the service of experienced employees than training fresh graduate employees who need to be giving a chance and opportunity to have firsthand experience.

It’s ok if the approach of using experienced employees saves time and the cost than training new ones, but opportunities such as internship or apprenticeship should be encouraged in all firms. Fresh graduates can also be employed as assistants after their internship or apprenticeship period. Most starting point was as a result of an opportunity, no one started perfect.

We all go through years of strategic experiences even if we are best at our skills. A child learns to sit, then learns to crawl, followed by standing, then begins to learn to walk gradually till the steps are mastered. The fact remains that every expert once had a starting point. What is your opinion…….?

Showing Gratitude

The Art of saying Thank You!

Every human being likes to be appreciated. Employers can boost the moral of their employees with just a simple 'thank you'. Employees in turn can show their appreciations also by just saying 'thank you' when they are appraised. The power of showing gratitude is beyond description, gratitude is shown as a result of good relationships nutured over time or in a short time. For instance, even children are not too small to be appreciated, in her article Nuture Thankfulness in Your child Brenda Nixon states that "It has been said that we’re always teaching . . . sometimes we use words. Remember to say “thank you” to others, but more importantly live a life of appreciation. Your children are watching their first and most influential teacher!”

Your costumers keep coming back as they get warming smiles and ‘thank you’ from you and your employees each time they visit. It makes them feel more secured to trust your company when doing transactions with you.

Joey Faucettein his article "How to tap the power of 'thank you'". stated that, there may be only one day a year devoted to giving thanks. But expressing thanks regularly -- year round -- and doing it well is one of the most profitable business strategies you can have.

Study after study reveals that when you say "Thank you" to your customers, they both spend more money and tell their friends about the exceptional service and products you deliver, increasing your profits. Volumes chronicle how employee productivity zooms when appreciation is expressed, raising your margins. Vendors go the extra mile to extend credit and deliver "just in time" when they hear gratitude regularly, not just in November, and keep your cash flowing.

Giving thanks works in business. But you're already doing more with less and the last thing you want is another item on your to-do list. So what are the most effective and efficient ways for you to express gratitude to these important players in your business' success? Read more...........
